Jim Dryden

Few people would imagine, after viewing the warm and vibrant color palette of Jim Dryden's marvelous paintings, that he's not from a latitude far south of Minnesota.

In reality though, he's a long time resident

of the Minneapolis / St. Paul metropolitan area.  Jim studied both art and music at the University of Minnesota before earning his BFA in painting and print making at the prestigious Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

A passion for travel and exotic places has become a primary influence in his work.

Jim draws tremendous inspiration from the

many diverse cultural and ethnic traditions

of his encounters, and it shows in the vibrant color and energy of his every painting.

A partial list of Jim's clients includes:

3M, Anhauser Busch, Coca Cola, Disney, Honda, General Mills, GMAC, GTE, John Deere, Marriot, NWA, PaineWebber, Reader's Digest, Scholastic, Target and Viacom.  Jim also contributes his artwork to a variety of worthy causes: The American Red Cross, Chicago Jazz and Blues Festival,

Children's Crisis Nursery, The Guthrie Theater, Minnesota Arts Council, MacPhail Center for the Arts, and The National Breast Cancer Foundation.
